Students will learn why Care Values are so important in Health and Social Care including:

HEALTHY EATING AND NUTRITION


Students will learn about how what we eat and our lifestyle can have a direct link to our health. This includes


The Eat Well Guide and how it is used by care professionals

Nutrients: Why the body needs them and where we can find them.

Effects of malnutrition and over nutrition.

Needs and choices of different people depending on age, culture, ethics and dietary requirements

Designing suitable diets for clients with specific dietary needs.
