KEY STAGE 5


These courses are opted for in year 11 and completed during years 12 and 13


The current course offered at Key Stage 5 is the LEVEL 3 FOUNDATION TECHNICAL LEVEL ENGINEERING (TVQ01019).


This course replaces the old A level specification and is a two year course that follows on from studies at Key Stage 4 (there is no accreditation for completing year 12 only). The course comprises of four assessed units:

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS


There are no official entry requirement for this course, however we recommend a strength in both Maths and Physics, 5 or higher In English and previous experience in a D&T subject.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES


There is currently a shortage of qualified engineers in the country, many companies are seeking to attract and train young engineers of the future. This course continues with the Whitby tradition of providing a qualification to cater for the needs of employers or further education. It gives students an excellent learning experience to progress to their desired path after school.
